DOGS IN NEED
Michelle and her son were dumped in the Redland and taken in by an older gentleman who took care of them best he could. However, that gentleman needed to sell his home to downsize and could not take his beloved animals with him. He sold the home and was promised by the new owners Michelle and her son could stay on the property and would be taken care of. However, the new owners failed them both and left their gate open intentionally so they would leave and never come back. That was in 2017, immediately we had to step into action. There was no way we would allow them to freely roam knowing the horrors of Redland Florida for dumped animals. Both were taken to vet, checked out fine and unfortunately we had to place them in boarding. Later in the year of 2017, they had the opportunity to go out of state to a no kill humane society to be placed for adoption. However, it did not work out and they were not treated with respect and two of our dedicated board members went to Minnesota twice and brought back three of our babies. No, we will not name them and no we have never sent another dog to them. Because of the entire experience, Michelle has needed to go to training but unfortunately, most people do not understand that training is needed which is also another way of vetting a dog behaviorally just not medically.
Michelle has been in board and training with respected certified animal trainer Heather Deely. She has made amazing strides during the last three weeks. Learning how to get in a car and not be anxious, she is leashed trained, learning how to trust other dogs (she did live with her son and a new puppy on the property, we took all three), learning how to trust humans, period. Right now, not good with children or cats we don’t believe this is something that would last forever, but right now, Michelle needs the right adopter/foster that can understand her needs as a dog that has lived her entire life outside with the exception of being picked up by us. But she has been in boarding ever since and it’s killing her and our board. To make her go back in to boarding means, without a doubt she will regress and all of the time, effort and money put forward for this snuggle bunny will be loss. Unfortunately, she cannot be adopted out of state and we need an adopter that’s no less than 2-3 hours away. She is also available for fostering. If you cannot foster or adopt, please copy and paste this narrative and share with all of your friends. Michelle comes with free training sessions one on one with her trainer.

This is CANE. He was found, newly dumped at the Rockpit, no chip, attempts to find owner turned up empty. He was lost, confused, and desperate to come with us. He was healthy and has only required basic vetting. But he is up to date on shots, neutered, and microchipped. He is ready for his own home. He’s awesome with people. He would need to be an only pet, but will give you enough love for five dogs. He would be a loyal companion and is strong and needs the right person to handle him. His beautiful brindle coat is unique and his head tilt is to die for!
